Nelson Mandela, South Africa's first black president. Noble prize winner and anti-Apartheid icon passed away on Thursday at his home in Johannesburg at the age of 95. By any standard, Madiba, as he was fondly referred to by those who loved him, lived a robust, fulfilling and impactful life. Few people have had as much impact on history as Madiba had.History will remember him as one of the greatest men who ever lived - an
incredibly selfless man who made so much of a sacrifice to re-write the history of generations of South Africans and the world.

During his lifetime Mandela inspired us with his numerous words of wisdom ,which touched in our memories till tomorrow. And his words remain evergreen.

Mona Lisa, Leonardo da Vinchi --- The Louvre, Paris, France ::

With that strange, mesmerising smile, this painting is possibly the most iconic painting in the world. Much parodied now-a-days but however many times view it, is still  holds a mysteriuos and that draw every one.
It is so famous that all need to wade through the crowds to see it but it will be worth the wait.

The Scream, Edvard Munch - National Gallery, Oslo, Norway ::

This is an image that resonates as much with people today as when the four versions were painted between
1893 and 1910. It is a disturbing vision of the ghost like figure in front of a red sky, crying out. These paintings are parhaps almost as famous for being stolen and recovered in recent times. One of the four pieces holds the record as the most expensive painting ever sold at auction for nearly $ 120 million.

The Creation of Adam, Michelangelo, Sistine Chapel, Rome, Italy ::

Gasing up at this astonishing fresco on the ceiling of the Sistine Chapel will leave all speacheless One of the most famous images in the world, it was painted by Michelangelo in 1511. Like something out of a dream or perhaps a nightmare, this is one of Dali's most well known surrealist pieces. Incredibly, the story goes that Dali came up with the idea of melted watches after looking at a half melted came  cheese. This much reoproduced, iconic painting is known the world over and was painted by Vincent Van Gogh in 1889. It depicts the view from outside his sanatorium window during the night. Tragically Van Gogh only sold one of his paintings during his life time but his works are now the most sought after across the globe. His distinct dreamlike style is captivating.
